A rotating LED strip is used in a rotating POV display and typically requires fewer than ten LEDs. These LEDs display visible words by blinking the alphabet. The rotating LED display or POV display is just an optical trick; our eyes cannot distinguish between the rapid on/off LED motion. In this Persistence of vision display the LED strip rotates at more than 500 revolutions per minute creating a pattern based on the letters that make the words or alphabets visible. This course aims to teach you how to utilise your Arduino board a very inexpensive board and a basic code you can write on your computer to create a persistence of vision (POV) Arduino LED display. It starts with defining the hardware and software requirements for this project. You will discover what a rotating LED Display is its working principles and the purpose of this project.Next we will discuss the persistence of vision. You will also understand how to download and install OrCad software. The coding process will be described in detail following that. Next we will make our circuit schematics. We will also explain how to create missing parts in OrCad. The final section will show us the Arduino LED display in action.
